[At a local house show, the action inside the arena is just finishing up, as superstars like Mike Mahoney and his manager Toni Frost celebrate victory, and take time to pose with the fans, and take pictures and all that nice stuff.]
[But once the contractually obligated good stuff inside the arena is done, the scene switches up to the exterior of a USPW house show in Washington DC, where a group of loyal fans are standing outside the arena chanting “USPW! USPW! USPW!” even though they won’t be on TV for this event. They seem excited as official USPW Interviewer Troy Baker walks out with a microphone in his hands.]
Baker: That’s right, folks! It’s USPW time! We would like to thank everyone for their love and support, and just so ya know, the MMA Champion and NEW USPW Television Champion Mike Mahoney will be here any second now!
[The crowd mixes cheers and boos. They know Mahoney was more loyal to his Miami hometown crowd than to the USPW DC crowd.]
Baker: We are just a few days away from the first Friday Night Freedom with a Television Champion in over one full month! It’s been a while since Shawn Starr was stripped of his championship, and now we have a new one! We also got some good Freedom matches lined up for you guys, like the United States Championship battle royal match, and the debut of Matt Hawk and Andrew Savage. And don’t forget about the USPW world Heavyweight Championship main event between Harvey and Phantom! There’s going to be a whole lot of action and excitement in DC and… Ohh here he is!
[Mike Mahoney steps onto the scene, with his valet Toni Frost. Mike Mahoney has the USPW Television title. They smile and pose for pictures. The crowd is excited, and Troy Baker takes his opportunity to approach them. He seems a little nervous as he straightens his tie, and clears his throat. Even a man with years and years of experience can become intimidated by this new unknown MMA force in USPW. After all, the last few weeks Mike Mahoney nearly ended the careers of several USPW wrestlers such as Deacon Frost, Jason Connor and Von Kreuger. Baker tries not to think too deeply about that. He makes his move.]
Baker: Umm… Mr Mahoney! Hi! Troy Baker here, can I get a word?
[Mahoney turns around, smiles and take his sunglasses off.]
Mahoney: Ahh! You must be here for my interview! Yes, I know I won my first ever pro-wrestling match and then my first ever pro-wrestling championship here in USPW, and I’m making shockwaves across the media! And yes, it’s true I must defend my title against the semi-talented Izzy Inzane in this upcoming Freedom, though I’m sure he won’t pose much a threat. What is he, like fifty years old? And yes, Mr Mischoff was nice enough to make it a STEEL CAGE match! I mean, I got a busy schedule with the training and media appearances and what not, but however I can be of assistance, let me know!
Baker: Great! That’s great! *ahem* Mike, I’m here on behalf of USPW.com and I want to know, how you feel about…
[Baker is interrupted as Toni Frost pulls Mike over and whispers in his ear. Mike’s eyes widen, and he shakes his head in disappointment.]
Mahoney: Wait, did you say USPW.com?
Baker: Y-yeah?
Mahoney: I’m sorry, I thought you were with the magazine I was scheduled to do an interview for. I apologize, Mr. Bacon, but this USPW.com interview just isn’t in my contract.
Baker: I-it’s Baker…
[Mike Mahoney chuckles as he walks away with Toni Frost, and a big expensive limo pulls up. A chauffer lets them into the back seat as David Willyard signals the “stop shooting” sign to the camera man, and the scene fades to black with disappointed fans jeering.]
