United States Championship
[/b][/u][/size]United States Championship
In some wrestling leagues, the United States championship is for the talented up and comer, and is ultimately a stepping stone. But think about where you are. This is United States Pro Wrestling and as such the US Title is more respected here than almost anywhere else and thus far every man to hold the US Title has also held the USPW World Heavyweight Title, no small feat. And while it’s gone through many changes, from being silver, to being a Unite Kingdom-themed belt, to being a belt based on the American flag, one thing remains the same: This championship is prestigious.
”Classy” Mike C
April 06, 2012 – April 29, 2012
Shawn Starr was on a roll here in USPW, and it seemed like nothing could stop him from winning all the gold. Already a USPW Television Champion, Shawn Starr found himself facing “Classy” Mike C in a ladder match to determine the first ever United States champion. But things didn’t go as the fans expected as Shawn Starr basically lied down for his friend, and allowed Mike C to grab the championship and become the champion in a controversial finish.
“Classy” Mike C would go on to rename and reimagine the USPW United States Championship into the United Kingdom Championship, continuing his anti-American tirade in a wrestling federation based off of strong American patriotism. He gained a lot of heat from the fans, but in the process he earned a lot of respect, even getting World Heavyweight Championship opportunities while holding the US Title.
Mark Force
April 29, 2012 – June 01, 2012
While some USPW fans thought it was a major sign of disrespect when “Classy” Mike C turned the US title into the United Kingdom title, but there was no denying what this hot pocket eating fool had to say about the US Championship was just plain ridiculous. It doesn’t help that he “won” this title, thanks to the outrageous creative mind of John Cooper. It was a champion vs champion match between US Champ, Mike C, and World Champ, Mark Force, where the loser got the Us Championship, the winner won the World Championship. So Force lost, and “won” the USPS United States Championship, and went on a downward spiral ever since, losing almost every noticeable match up, including the Champion’s Advantage Match and a one on one with AJ Johnson, prompting new USPW Owner, Mr Mischoff to book a battle royal for the championship, following the Forsaken Pay-Per-View. This battle royal would ultimatley end the short but legendary run of Mark Force in USPW.
AJ Johnson
June 01, 2012 – June 24, 2012
A true pioneer of United States Pro Wrestling and the face of USPW, he won the United States Championship in a battle royal, and kept every USPW fan in the audience chanting his name. Several successful title defenses ultimately led to a clash with career-long enemy: The Brian Magnum. At USPW Hell Frozen Over AJ Johnson defeated The Brian Magnum, effectively ending Magnum’s career, and earned a shot at GM Ray’s special Glory for Gold match at the next PPV. With the World title in AJ’s sights, and Brian Magnum defeated, AJ willingly gave up the United States Championship, leaving it vacant, but still a DVD-worthy title run.
Vacant
June 24, 2012 – July 06, 2012
The USPW United States Championship was vacant for around two weeks until a triple threat match for the vacant title was set up on Friday Night Freedom.
