Travis: Are you guys ready for this one? We might have a bloodbath on our hands.
Roberts: You’re right about that one, Steve. On the one hand, you have Damien Vincent, the United States champ. He’s one bad customer. Ruthless, animalistic, borderline nuts, and his wrestling skills aren’t bad either. And on the other side, you’ve got Cameron Cash making his return.
Vendetta: That was nuts! The Syndicate laid down a beating and said they wanted a shot at Cyanide and Crysis!
Roberts: But whether they get it or not, Cameron has a shot at singles glory right here. He was a former tag team champion here and he’s won multiple titles with other organizations. Tough as nails, very technically sound, and always willing to push whatever boundaries he needed to to get the job done. Not to mention, where Cash goes, Trent’s never far behind. And we all know what he’s capable of.
Vendetta: Yup! Winning! My kind of guy. But I don’t see how it’d help today. These two are getting locked in a steel cage!
[Damien slowly walks out from the silent shadows of the backstage area and onto the entrance ramp. A single spotlight illuminates him against the pitch black. He peers out into the audience, with loathing and distrust flagrantly displayed on his face. During these moments, the opening piano notes of his entrance theme have been fading louder. He walks to the ring as if savoring the seconds before the kill, but repulsed by the smell and sounds of humanity. Any audience member with the nerve to begins to boo him. The others sit in solemn silence. He approaches the ring, wearing his United States Championship around his waist. After entering, he hands the belt to the ref and stands there waiting, completely still except for his twitch.]
Roberts: I can’t believe they’re letting him wear that belt. He blatantly cheated to get it his chance at it, and he was obviously unconscious when he actually won it!
Travis: You know what they say, the only thing that matters is who has their hand raised when the bell rings.
Vendetta: For real. Cool it, ya dork. It’s how the business works.
[Damien stands there for some time, waiting. He seems to be growing impatient. Cameron is taking quite awhile to make his way to the ring. Damien starts to pace wildly, like a freshly caught animal.]
Vendetta: What the hell’s taking so long? I’ve been looking forward to these two tearing each other to shreds! What’s the hold up? Where’s Cash?
Travis: I couldn’t tell you, but I’m sure Mr. Vincent feels the same way.
[Damien’s eyes are so fixed on the entrance ramp that he doesn’t notice Cameron sliding out from under the ring and coming in through the ropes. As soon as Damien turns around, Cameron hits him with a knee strike and then follows it up with his Jackpot neckbreaker!]
Vendetta: Haha! Wow! What a way to make a statement. That’s using your head, Cameron!
Travis: Certainly seems effective at least. Damien seems to be in rough shape.
Roberts: Ugh...I guess I can’t blame him. I’m sure Damien would have done the same.
[As Damien struggles to regain his composure, the cage starts to descend. Then, as it finally hits the floor, the bell goes off.]
Roberts: What? They’re actually going to start the match right now? After that?
[As soon as the match has officially begun, Cameron starts making a run for the cage wall to take advantage of Damien’s state. But as he begins to scale the wall, his opponent sees what’s happening and rushes over. Damien grabs him by the ankles and pulls him back down. He then grabs him by the head, smashing his face first into the ring post, then into the ring floor, and finally tossing him back inside the ropes. As the two stand there starring at each other, Damien is fuming. Cash seems excited, as well as very confident. They tie up, and neither seems to have a clear strength advantage. They spend awhile shoving each other before Cameron breaks the hold by throwing another knee which stuns Damien for a moment. He then bounces off the ropes and hits him with a shoulder block. Damien hurries back to his feet, and when Cameron tries the same maneuver a second time, he runs into a brutal spinning back kick. Damien then locks up and hits a sitout jawbreaker that drops him. But when Damien leans over to try and pick him up, Cameron punches him in the jaw and leaps to his feet. He then locks in a clinch and tosses Damien with a powerful belly to belly suplex.]
Travis: That suplex is one of his more potent weapons in Cameron Cash’s arsenal.
Vendetta: Yea, Vinny better be ready to go on that ride more than once tonight.
[Cameron begins stomping on Damien, viscously. He then stands him up and after locking in a headlock, he hits a flawless tornado DDT. He then throws Damien into the corner, and begins hitting him with a series of cracking chops to the chest. He punctuates it at the end with a huge knee strike which drops Damien yet again. He then leaves him in the corner and begins to climb the wall again, smiling to himself. He seems to be making good progress when Damien gets up and rips him down by his ankle again.]
Travis: Seems like Cameron Cash is trying to end this quickly.
[Damien hits Cameron with an eye rake and follows it up with a clothesline. As Cash lays there recovering, Damien tries to scale the cage himself...ZAP!...Damien pulls away from the wall as soon as he touches it, starring down at his hands. A spark seemed to fly from it when he made contact.]
Roberts: Wait...did you guys see what I saw?
Vendetta: I think that cage is electrified! But it sure as hell didn’t shock Cameron Cash.
Travis: Oh, boy. This smells like Trent, to me.
Roberts: Looks like Damien Vincent is going to have to win this from the inside! That cage might be impossible to climb.
[Damien touches the cage cage a few more times times, seeing if he had just gotten shocked. But as he does, Cash rises and tackles him. He throttles Damien with punch after punch and then tosses him back in the ring. After a few stomps, he locks in a sharpshooter. Damien yells out in pain. The hold lasts for over a minute. He seems right on the verge of tapping. But at the last moment before his hand slaps the mat he punches it instead, looking furious. He summons up his strength and turns his hips out, then kicks Cameron off of him. As Cameron tries to quickly respond and leap back on him, he lands squarely in Damien’s own submission, a triangle choke. But Cameron is fired up and lifts himself and Damien up, with the latter mounted up on his shoulders. He then slips his arm out of the hold. Damien’s face is painted with fear as Cameron brutally smashes him into the ground with a viscous powerslam!]
Vendetta: Talk about strength!
Travis: I could feel that powerslam from here! Mr. Cash is certainly intent on walking out of here as champion!
[Cameron goes for the cover. 1...2...kickout! Damien seems to be hanging on to life in there. After the pin doesn’t work, he decides to make a b-line for the wall. As he begins climbing, Damien rises and just as he’s nearing the top of the cage, Damien leaps from the top rope hits Cameron in the back with a flying dropkick! Both of them come crashing down to the ground. They lie there for awhile, both in tremendous pain. Damien seems to have hit his head on the way down, and he’s bleeding out of his mouth. They both begin to rise, and it turns into a brawl. They stand there, slugging at each other, both using the cage to their advantage and exchanging hellacious blows. Damien eventually tosses Cameron back in the ring, then sprints up to him and lands his running punt, directly to Cash’s ribs.]
Roberts: Oh! There’s that punt again! That attack is just sickening!
[Damien goes for the cover. 1...kickout! Cameron is in alot of pain, but he obviously hasn’t been beaten yet. Damien picks him up and smashes him in the jaw with a spinning back elbow that staggers him. He then bounces off the ropes and hits a textbook shining wizard. Cameron gets up and as Damien tries to continue the assault, he lands a high momentum belly to belly suplex! While he is down, Cameron ascends to the top rope and lands a nasty diving headbutt!]
Travis: Ouch! To land that, you need to have have a strong will to win, and lets be honest, you need to be a bit masochistic.
[Cameron then hauls him up and attempts to hit a hurricanrana, but Damien halts his momentum and and tosses him off his body! Cameron tries to stand up quickly, but Damien hits him with a flying scissor kick that floors him. As he lies prone, Damien attains the full mount and begins punching him over and over. After releasing the mount he lets Cameron stand back up, then he starts attacking his leg with multiple switch leg kicks. Cameron falls to one knee, and Damien tries to go for the Dead Silence, but Cameron slips under it and grabs him, hitting his Cash Deposit side slam! Damien seems to be helpless now, and Cameron hauls him over to the corner. He then locks up a facebuster hold...]
Vendetta: Uh oh! This one might be over, kids!
Roberts: He’s setting up the Grey Goose Death Drop!
[Cameron has the hold locked up, and starts to lift for his finisher, but Damien doesn’t seem to budge. He tries three times to lift the man, but meets resistance. Then Damien springs to life and tosses him from the top rope! Cameron crashes hard, but immediately jumps back up. But as he does, Damien performs the Dead Silence leaping from the ropes! It cracks Cameron Cash spot on and he goes down like a ton of bricks! Damien makes the cover!
1...2...At the last second, Trent appears from under the ropes and smashes on the back of the head with an oversized, steel remote control!]
Roberts: Oh no! Trent was under the ring?!? He must have been waiting down there with Cameron before the match!
Travis: This is gonna be trouble! And I bet that remote is what he was using to control the electric current on the cage so it wouldn’t shock Cameron!
[Trent is pummeling Damien with the remote repeatedly, but Damien catches it and headbutts him! He starts going to town, unleashing shot after shot! Damien is now bleeding heavily out of his mouth and forehead, but doesn’t seem to notice. Cameron is still utterly unconscious. Damien then rips the remote out of Trent’s hands and smashes him with it. Then he irish whips him over the ropes and pins him against the side of the cage by planting his boot up against Trent’s neck. He then stares deviously at the remote and smiles wickedly before pressing the large red button. Trent immediately starts spasming and sparks are flying! After a few moments, Trent’s shirt bursts into flame and he crumples to the ground, rolling to try and put it out. Damien’s left cheek is twitching, and he tries to jump back on him for the kill, but Trent fights back and kicks Damien in the gut. Damien then runs away as quickly as he can to the opposite wall.]
Roberts: This is sickening! Holy crap! How could anyone do this to another human being!
Vendetta: Haha! Looks like we’re having fried chicken tonight, boys!
[Damien then tosses the remote out of the ring as hard as he can and begins climbing. Trent runs over to Cameron and awakens him with a start, and Cameron begins climbing right behind him, gaining very quickly, with Trent cheering him on.]
Travis: This looks like a photo finish!
[The two reach the top of the cage at the same moment and stare at each other. They begin trying to push and shove in an attempt to knock the other off. They end up clinched at the very edge! They try madly to make their way over the wall and knock each other back, but just as Cameron is about to roll over it and beat Damien, he grabs ahold, and the two tumble together! They seem to strike the ground at the same moment! As they hit the floor, the air rushes out of both of them and they sit there, just trying to breath again.]
Travis: They fell at nearly the same moment!
Vendetta: Well...who won?
Roberts: Let’s get the replay going!
[The slow mo replay starts, and it show the two of them tumbling. It has to go to a frame by frame just to show any difference.]
Roberts: The defining factor is who had both feet on the ground first. So we need to zoom in on the lower body.
[On the third replay, it becomes clear that the winner is...Damien Vincent, whose left heel hit the ground a split second earlier than Cameron Cash.]
Travis: Wow. What a battle. Somehow, Damien Vincent retains the US Championship after Cameron Cash and Trent pushed him to his limit inside the steel cage. That was a hell of a performance by all involved.
Vendetta: Hell yea! What was your favorite part, guys? Mine was when Trent got roasted!
[As they talk, Anthony Sanderson comes down the ramp to help Damien, who is utterly exhausted, backstage. As the cage ascending, Trent runs over to check on Cameron, who looks extremely upset.]
Roberts: You are a seriously sick human being, Johnny. Like it or not, and I certainly don’t, Damien Vincent is still our United States Champion and still unbeaten, but Cameron Cash put on a great show. Coming up next, we’ve got a battle between the previous and current heavyweight champs, Mike Mahoney and The Predator! Maybe it’ll get the bad taste out of my mouth.
